This qualification is regulated by TQUK and undertaken online. It provides learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them to perform the full role of an assessor. Assessing both competence in the work environment and vocational achievement.
This qualification is equivalent to the former assessing qualifications D32/33 and A1 Award. There are three units to cover during the qualification – ‘Understanding the principles and practices of assessment’, ‘Assess occupational competence in the work environment’ and ‘Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding’.
Duration of the qualification
There is no set time frame for completion of this qualification. Most learners complete the qualification within one to three months. Learners may complete with in a few weeks.
Content of the Qualification
The qualification covers are range of topics including the role of an assessor, legislation, planning assessment, assessment methods, holistic assessment, feedback and internal quality assurance during the assessment process.
Qualification Assessment Activities
Assessment activities include the completion of a number of assignment, observations, expert witness testimony and evidence gathered when undertaking the assessor role.
Learners must be occupationally competent in the area they wish to assess and
have access to assess two of their own learners during the qualification.
