The Level 3 Award in Paediatric Emergency First Aid (QCF) is regulated by Ofqual and accredited through the Awarding Organisation Training Qualifications UK (TQUK).
Qualification Information – £75 per person
This qualification is classroom based only. It must be delivered at employer premises, to a maximum of 12 learners.
The qualification is suitable for anyone wishing to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of Paediatric First Aid. The qualification enables learners to provide appropriate care and manage life threatening conditions and minor illnesses and injuries.
The Duration of the qualification
The qualification has a duration of six hours. This includes delivery and assessment activities.
Content of the Qualification
The qualification covers the role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider, how to assess an incident, how to manage paediatric casualties who are: unresponsive and breathing normally/ abnormally, in seizure, choking, bleeding externally, in shock, or have a minor injury
Qualification Assessment Activities
The qualification is assessed using a range of interesting assessment methods including practical demonstrations by learners, such as how to give CPR, question and answer sessions with the trainer and written work within an answer booklet.
At the End of the Qualification
Learners receive a recognised Level 3 Award from TQUK.
As well as receiving an accredited certificate, all learners are given a free, sixty colour page Paediatric First Aid Manual containing simple, easy to follow explanations of first aid, in line with current Paediatric First-Aid protocols.
Learners also receive a Paediatric First Aid I.D. card to show their accreditation as a paediatric first aider.
