The Level 4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance (RQF) qualification is regulated by Ofqual on the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) and accredited through our Awarding Organisation, Training Qualifications UK (TQUK). This qualification is undertaken online through our easy-to-use Online Qualification System.
Qualification Information
This qualification provides individuals who work in advice and guidance with the opportunity to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of advice and guidance, in any sector or industry.
Duration of the Qualification
You will have up to one year to complete the qualification, although most learners complete it with Educating UK within three to four months. Some learners may complete within a shorter time frame.
Content of the Qualification
The qualification covers ten units:
Unit 1: Understand the importance of legislation and procedures
Unit 2: Develop interactions with advice and guidance clients
Unit 3: Manage personal case load
Unit 4: Evaluate and develop own contribution to the service
Unit 5: Operate within networks
Unit 6: Support clients to make use of the advice and guidance service
Unit 7: Provide and maintain information materials for use in the service
Unit 8: Provide support for other practitioners
Unit 9: Undertake research for the service and its clients
Unit 10: Design information materials for use in the service
A range of topics are covered within the ten units including current, local and national requirements and legislation, values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviours, safe and supportive environments, communication methods and skills, information management, reflective practice, setting SMART objectives, working in networks, supporting clients and developing information materials.
Qualification Assessment Activities
The qualification is assessed through the completion of written assessments, personal statements, observations, expert witness testimonies and evidenced produced during your practice in advice and guidance.
Qualification Requirements
You must have access to learners or clients that you are able to work with to offer advice and guidance. You must be observed a number of times by an Expert Witness working with your clients or learners, in an advice and guidance capacity. Your Expert Witness can be your line manager or a colleague who is qualified and/or competent in advice and guidance. They must be able to confirm that they hold a relevant qualification and competence in advice, guidance, or teaching.

Entry Requirements
You must:
– Have reading and writing skills adequate to meet the requirements of the qualification and be able to complete the written assessments to a good standard.
– Work in an advice and guidance capacity within your our work role.
– Have access to learners or clients.
– Have access to an Expert Witness.
