The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the External Quality of Assurance Processes and Practice (QCF) is regulated by Ofqual and accredited through the Awarding Organisation Training Qualifications UK (TQUK). This qualification is undertaken online.
Qualification Information – £750
This qualification develops the skills, knowledge and understanding to enable learners to lead a team of external quality assurers. (EQAs).
The qualification comprises of three units ‘Understanding the principles and practices of externally assuring the quality of assessment’, ‘externally assure the quality of assessment’ and ‘Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility’.
Duration of the qualification
There is no set time frame for completion. Most learners complete the qualification within three to four months. Learners may complete within a few weeks.
Content of the Qualification
The qualification covers a range of topics including the role of an EQA, how to plan and undertake EQA activities and how to externally assure the quality of assessment. The qualification also covers how to lead a team of EQAs.
Qualification Assessment Activities
Assessment activities include the completion of a number of assignments and undertaking two EQA activities on behalf of an awarding organisation. This includes being observed and using evidence gathered during EQA activities. Learners are expected to evidence wider reading and include references in their work.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be occupationally competent in their specialist area and have access to work with an awarding organisation in order to undertake the EQA activities. Educating UK are able to provide access to an approved awarding organisation for selected learners.
Learners must also have one or more EQAs to ‘lead’.
