Qualification Information
This qualification is regulated by TQUK and is undertaken online. It is suitable for learners who want a teaching qualification which focuses on both the practical and theoretical elements of teaching. Learners may already be teaching and wish to have their experience and practice accredited, or not presently teaching but capable of meeting the minimum teaching practice requirement of 30 hours for this qualification.

Duration of the qualification
There is no set time frame for completion of the qualification. Most learners complete within four to eight months. Some learners may complete the qualification within a quicker time frame.

Content of the Qualification
The qualification covers a range of units including the role of a teacher, legislation related to teaching, inclusion, feedback, planning lessons, delivering lessons, assessing learners and designing and using resources in education and training.

Qualification Assessment Activities
The qualification is assessed through the completion of assignments, learner statements and evidence produced during teaching practice, such as resources, lesson plans and schemes of work. Learners are expected to evidence wider reading and include references in their work. Learners must also be observed a minimum of three times. Each observation of teaching practice must last for a minimum of one hour.

Entry Requirements
Learners are expected to have a minimum standard of literacy at Level 2 and hold another qualification at a minimum of level 3.
