This qualification is regulated by TQUK and undertaken online. It is intended for learners who assess This qualification is intended for learners who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment rather than assessing competence in a work environment. This qualification comprises of two units ‘Understanding the principles and practices of assessment’ and ‘Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding’.
Duration of the qualification
There is no set time frame for completion of this qualification. Most learners complete the qualification within two to three months. Learners may complete with in a few weeks.
Content of the Qualification
The qualification covers are range of topics including the role of an assessor, legislation relating to assessment, how to plan vocationally related assessments, assessment methods to use when undertaking vocational assessment, feedback and internal quality assurance during the assessment process.
Qualification Assessment Activities
Assessment activities include the completion of a number of assignment, observations, expert witness testimony and evidence gathered when undertaking vocationally related assessments.
Learners must be occupationally competent in the area they wish to assess and
have access to assess two of their own learners during the qualification.
